We spent one day on the island and lucked out..the weather was perfect! The Star Line Ferry was right by our hotel so after breakfast we walked over and boarded the boat. Maddie was so excited when we got to "horsey Island" because she loves horses. We took a carriage ride around the island and visited the butterfly house. One of the best parts about the ride was one of our horses was named Brenda...the same as their aunt. We would have loved to ride bikes around the island but we had some issues...My big belly, my Dad's broken wrist and my mom found out right before we left that she need surgery on her retina and had to be very careful not the strain her eye. So..biking was out. We enjoyed eating at a great place on the water front, had ice cream and enjoyed the sights. The kids all found the "perfect" t-shirt to take home to remind them of our special day on the island. Oh and when we go back to our hotel we swam in the pool..another HUGE hit with our kids. What is it about a hotel that is so exciting to kids?? Part 3.....Coming soon.Our trip over the bridge and into the UP!!
