We left Mackinaw after a few days of fun and headed over the bridge and to Tahquamenon Falls. To see the falls is a short hike. I hiked to the lower falls and everyone else did the upper and lower falls. While waiting for the others to return, I had a nice close encounter with Bambi. Our tour guide, Jake, informed us that his teacher, Mrs. Slotman ,said that the upper falls were the most spectacular....Mrs. Slotman was referenced a lot on our trip as the ultimate expert! After our visit to the falls we headed to Soo Locks. We ate at a really fun place called, Antlers, swam in the pool ,and were able to catch a few massive freighters passing through. Pretty amazing! The next day we made the long drive home. It was a great trip to take Jake on as he got to see first hand many of the things he had studied all year. As for the highlight for the kids....Horsey Island...for sure!
