"Swim Lessons Are Not Scary!"

The triplets have been in swim lessons this week. A neighbor gives awesome, private lessons in her pool. They each go for 30 minutes by themselves. We do some serious running back and forth for an hour and a half. The first day went pretty well, besides Zach. The girls were excited about their teacher and the special attention. However Abby freaked when we left Maddie, it makes sense, they are always together but I didn't expect it. Zach was freaked about the change and being alone. He has lots of anxiety about new situations. After the first day, they were all done in their minds. Our day was filled with lots of reminders about swim lessons and lots of talk about not wanting to see that lady! Maddie kept saying she didn't want to go to her game. Poor thing has gone to so many sporting events for Jake she thinks any sport involves a game! They all went the second day ,but it was not pretty. On the third day it was the same story. This time they wanted Aunt Brenda to come to see them. So, sweet Aunt Brenda stopped making her dinner to make the trips back and forth to the pool because they wanted her. They went pretty willingly this day..thanks Brenda. By tonight, our 4Th day, they were great! Maddie went with no tears. Abby only a few, and Zach jumped right in. Go figure? Their teacher told them that she has a surprise for them on Friday. I think they will go just fine with that bait! I know what the bait is too....Princess dive rings that are necklaces they can wear and a baseball dive toy...PERFECT!) As for the lessons themselves, they have learned a lot. They are floating, putting their faces in to reach for rings, swimming, kicking across the pool with just a kick board. She is doing a great job with them. Overall..it was a success...they learned how to swim a little more, learned that they can be away from each other and from Mom and Dad and learned that lessons are not that scary!

** On a funny note...As far as I know there are only three sets of triplets in our town.( middle school age, Upper El age and ours) We also have a set of quads and a set of sextuplets....The kids teacher taught one of the other triplet trios last week, , teaches the sextuplets in the mornings this week and our triplets in the evening...it is a multiples invasion!!!
