I found this craft on one of my favorite blogs. It was a cheap, easy and entertaining.
1. Send your kids on a rock hunt. They should look for rocks that are the size of the palm of their hand and are smooth. I told my kids to each pick 3.
2. Next, have them pick out several crayons from your crayon stash that are bright and fun colors. Crayons with glitter were extra cool! While they are pealing the paper off the crayons, heat the oven to 350 degree. Line a cookie sheet with foil and place the rocks on the foil. Make note of which rocks belong to who to avoid fights! We made rows for each child.
3. After the oven is heated, place the rocks in the oven for 15 minutes. Set towels on the table to place the rocks onto once the timer goes off. Use this time to talk about safety around HOT rocks.
4. After 15 minutes the rocks are ready. I placed one rock at a time in front of the artist. All they needed to do is touch the crayons to the rocks and they melted away to create beautiful rocks! The girls loved this activity and they turned out super cute!!
