Merry Christmas

Some highlights of our holiday. We had a merry day despite being a house filled with sickness. YUCK! We are looking forward to healthier days and our annual New Years fondue celebration.

50TH AND THANKSGIVING

My Thanksgiving turkeys!
My in-laws had their 50th wedding anniversary this fall. We were told NOT to give them a party…….we didn't listen. They are so special to us and we wanted to honor them for their dedication to each other and our family. My sister in laws and I got busy this summer planning the perfect party..and that is just what we threw! I think they were thrilled and touched at the love they were shown by friends and family.

To Blog or Not to Blog???

I've not blogged in some time for a few reasons. First, I have been swamped with things. My job, a public school teacher, is more challenging than ever before. I simply do not have time to do the extras I enjoy and keep up with the demands of the job. So what goes….the things I enjoy! Having said that..I urge my readers to please consider voting YES on Proposal 2, the right to Collectively Bargain. The state has been passing laws left and right that are not to the benefit of the kids. I cannot imagine what our schools would look like if we didn't have the right to speak for our kids and have a say in what their schooling should look like. So, please consider voting , YES! Secondly, I've been toying with the idea of either ending my blog or going private. I'm still not sure what to do. I'd love to hear your opinions on the matter. Private? Public? Give it up? In the meantime, I've had some complaints from my family. Many of them use the blog to stay up with our crazy life. So here are a few goodies until I make up my mind.

Avoiding....

Still avoiding the vacation post....Just so many pictures to choose from. So, I posted pictures that were on my post list instead. Warning, this is a random collection. I'll try to briefly explain why each deserves a post. 1. Sara's room: This was the boy's room last summer. Now it's all hers. She's been in it since last summer, but I just finished all the cute touches every girl's room needs! Don't you love the curtains.:) 2. Getting crafty with my "S". I am sure I don't even need to explain where I found this idea.:) I love how it turned out. It cost less than 2.00, so I will be making more and changing it up for the seasons. 3. Vacation Bible School . Another successful year of fun. 4. Blueberry picking with friends. Many were eaten, many were frozen for later. 5. Playing with friends. A daily routine. 6. Playing with the camera. Are you asked every time you get the camera out if someone can take a picture? I am! This is Abby's work. 7. Laundry room. I've only waited for 5 year...but here is the painted laundry room. Now, I am not blaming anyone for its delay. This is the first summer since the triplets were born, then Miss Sara, that I really feel things can be accomplished somewhat easily. The trips can play with friends and entertain themselves while Sara naps and I can get things done. I've organized, cleaned, fixed....you name it! It's a great feeling to really feel moved in your house even if it's 5 years later! Next up....half bath on the main floor!

Missed a few goodies..

Maybe it's an effort to avoid the BIG vacation post....but I was crusing through my pics and realized I missed a few fun events that deserved a spot on the blog...I totally missed FAther's Day as a post...A few more baseball/t-ball highlights. One night Jake played on the front field and Maddie and Zach played the back field. That was fun! The other cutie in the pic is their buddy, Luke, who joined us for the evening. I also realized that I didn't take one picture of Jake on his All-Star baseball team. Geesh! Jake was honored to be chosen to play on the All-Star team for our town at his age level and just ended his season last weekend. He loves that sport so getting a few months of extra play was HUGE for him. Last but not least..a sweet picture of our oldest and youngest. I love watching these two interact. Something about it is just so heartwarming to me.
