It has been a long time since Ron and I were able to have some alone time. My parents were gracious enough to take our crew so we could enjoy a weekend in the Windy City! After three days of, lists, laundry ,and packing to send our gang away, we left for our trip.
Here are a few highlights.
Friday:
1. Arrival and check in
2. Nap , Why you ask? Because I could!
3. Dinner and wine at the Melting Pot ,our favorite Fondue restaurant
Saturday
1. Wake very well rested, realize that it was 7:00 a.m.
2. Sulk momentarily because I am getting old and can't sleep in anymore!
3. Shop on Magnificent Mile! Highlights include Livestrong jogging pants and top for Ron and DARLING black boots with a wedge heel for me! And yes Katie, they had a white light beaming down on them from Heaven!
4. Late lunch at ESPN Zone to catch a few games!
5. Return to the hotel and nap, again!
6. Call home and get the report that the kids were being "Angels!" Whew! That is a relief!
7. Go to our Hotel bar, return to our room with a few drinks, dessert, and then rent a movie on our hotel room t.v. Why a movie?? Because it has been two years since we have seen one! Well,correction, one without Elmo in it!
Sunday
1. Wake at 7:30 a.m. Sulk again!
2. Leave Chicago
3. Stop at Bob Evan's for a late breakfast
4. Smile because we get to see our kids again and because they had a Fabulous time at Hotel Grandma and Grandpa and... Grandma and Grandpa were still smiling too!! THANKS MOM AND DAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Beth - Sounds like a GREAT weekend. So glad you and Ron could get away - you both deserve it!
